Gatsibo is a largely rural district in Rwanda where people typically use wood fuel on inefficient three-stone fire to boil their drinking, cleaning and washing water. This process results in the release of greenhouse gas emissions from the burning of wood. This can be avoided if a technology is applied which does not require fuel (like wood or fossil) and supplies the clean water desired by households.
